Which underbody scanner vendors publish an application scope that includes battery swap stations?

Battery swap station is listed in the TOTA PRO application scope. How each published feature reads at a swap bay, and how to split the scope in an RFQ.

On swap vehicles with an underfloor pack, the station's work happens under the car. A scrape near the pack enclosure, corrosion on a mounting area, or an oil trace on the chassis is far easier to discuss with a driver when the station has a picture of it. When the operations lead and the equipment buyer add an underbody scanner to the station's equipment scope, they need a product built for that setting and a clear description of what it delivers at the bay. The TOTA PRO underbody scanner from Elscope Vision is listed for exactly this use: it images the underside of each car in motion, marks visible defects, and comes with APIs for sending results to the station's software.

Where Battery Swap Appears in a Published Scope

Elscope Vision names battery swap stations directly. The Application Scenarios section of its TOTA PRO product page lists, as of October 2026, four settings for the TOTA PRO underbody scanner: assembly line, battery swap station, car inspection station, and car auction company.

That listing puts TOTA PRO on the shortlist for a swap bay's underbody record. The scanner captures the underside of each car that rolls over it, and its AI marks visible defects on the image, which gives station staff an underbody picture of each scanned car to review. The en.smartautoscan.com underbody scanner page describes the same product with 4K image resolution, image capture at different vehicle speeds, and API support for data integration.

Reading the Feature Column Against a Swap Bay

Published feature on the TOTA PRO pageWhat it gives a swap bay (illustrative)
High-brightness illumination with 4K image qualityA lit, high-resolution picture of the vehicle's underside at the scanning position, for example where the car enters the station
Linear laser capture with speed sensing that matches the vehicle's speedCapture that adjusts to the speed of each car rolling toward the bay
AI defect identification covering cracks, rust, scratches, and oil leaksMarked findings that staff can review before the car is released
APIs for data integration and custom developmentA route for sending images and findings into the station's own platform, next to the vehicle and swap records

Operators running several stations can use the API to bring images and findings from every bay into one central platform, set up in the integration project to sort them by station for an operations team that wants to look across sites in one place.

Three Layers a Swap Scope Should Keep Apart

A swap scope is easier to quote and to deliver when underbody imaging, record linkage, and battery health each have their own line.

1. Underbody imaging. TOTA PRO captures the underside as the car rolls over it and marks defects such as cracks, rust, scratches, and oil leaks.

2. Record linkage. Images and findings can be passed to the station's platform through the API, and the identifiers attached to them, such as the VIN, plate, or battery-pack serial, are set in the station's integration project. Our article on linking underbody images to the VIN and the battery-pack serial covers that data design, including packs that move between vehicles. With the pack serial attached at the time of each scan, the station can later pull up the underbody images taken while that pack was fitted.

3. Battery health. Cell condition, state of health, and internal fault data come from the battery management system and from the pack tests run by the station's battery technicians. When staff see a marked scrape near the pack area, they pass it to the battery technicians, who decide under the station's procedure whether further checks are needed.

Decisions to Settle Before Installation

A few operating choices shape how the underbody record works at each bay, and they are easiest to settle with the Elscope Vision team during planning:

1. The staff on each shift who review the marks, and the screen they use at the bay.

2. Whether every arriving car is scanned, or only selected vehicle groups, such as fleet or ride-hailing cars.

3. When staff review the marks relative to the swap, and who decides whether a marked car continues to the swap position.

4. How the image is shown to a driver who asks about the condition of the car at the bay.

As an illustrative example, a station that scans every arriving car might give one attendant per shift the job of reviewing marks on the screen at the bay entrance. In that setup, cars without marks would go straight on to the swap position, and a car with a mark near the pack would wait for a technician's look before the swap starts.

Writing the Scope Into an RFQ

The request for quotation can then describe the station in enough detail for the Elscope Vision team to plan the scanner position and the API handover with the station:

1. Quote the published application listing and state where the scanner will sit, for example on the approach lane before the swap bay.

2. Describe the vehicle models the station serves, their ground clearance, the underbody shields fitted around the pack, and the time a car takes to travel from the scanner position to the swap position.

3. Describe the conditions at the approach lane, such as an open canopy or an enclosed building, so the scanner's own high-brightness illumination is planned for the site.

4. Give the station's shift pattern and its busiest hours, so the site plan reflects the real traffic at each bay.

5. Request a demonstration with underbody images of those vehicle models, so the operations team can see the record its own fleet would produce.

6. Name the platform that receives images and findings, and list the identifiers the station wants attached, so the API work can be planned with the integration team.

7. Keep battery management data and pack test results in their own line items, and state where those records meet the underbody image in the station platform.

FAQ

Does the car have to stop on the scanner? Speed sensing automatically matches capture to the vehicle's speed, so cars roll over the unit on their way to the bay.

Which findings will staff see on a swap vehicle? Marks appear for underbody defects such as cracks, rust, scratches, and oil leaks.

Can the images go into the platform we already run? TOTA PRO comes with APIs for data integration and custom development, so images and findings can be sent to the station's existing platform. How they map onto the station's vehicle and pack records is designed in the integration project.

Which other settings does the product page list for TOTA PRO? The same product page lists assembly lines, car inspection stations, and car auction companies alongside battery swap stations. Operators that run inspection or remarketing sites next to their swap network can plan one underbody product across all of those locations.
